The Gujarat Rural Workers Welfare Board is implementing variouswelfareschemefor the overall development of the unorganized Rural Labour. Under this minor head 3 Rural Workers Welfare Centers expenditure is booked.

The Welfare Center which are run by Gujarat Rural Workers Welfare Board are now decided to be run by Women and child welfare Department under ICDS ( Integrated Child Development Schsme ) and the expenditure will be born by them. This department has made provision only for expenditure which are excluded by ICDS.

Outlay of Rs. 1.00 lakhs was provided for the year 2008 - 2009. The same Outlay of Rs. 1.00 lacs was provided for the year 2009 - 2010.

Ministry of labour&Employment,gov.of India has introduced ”swasthya Bima yojna” For BPL families.Under this scheme,health insurance cover of Rs.30,000 is provided to BPL Families.Under the scheme 75% of premium cost is given by Gov.of India and 25% premium Cost is to be borne by state government.Moreover smart card is also given @cost of Rs.60 To BPL families,yhe cost of the smart card is borne by Gov.of India.5,66,000 BPL families Will be covered in this districts. During the year,2008-09,the scheme has been implemented in Patan, Dahod, Jamnagar, Kutch and Bharuch District, and till 31st Dismember 310913 smart Card were issued and Rs. 26.12 Lacs were disbursed to 456 Beneficiaries . State health Society Gandhi agar had received Rs. 5 crores from state Govt. and Rs. 12.81 crores from central Govt. up to December 2008 as Premium and the Society recognized 74 Hospital for giving facility to the effect workers . Further more state Govt. Has made provision of Rs. 813.90 Lacs in the Budget of 2009 -10 towards state Govt. Share of Premium as Under .
