Introduction

For maintaining Industrial peace, Imparting social justice, protecting Interests workmen and for adjudicating their just, and proper demands, certain Labour Acts are in force. They are mainly as under:
1. The Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946.
2. The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
3. The Workmen Compensation Act, 1923.
4. The Payment of wages Act.
5. The Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
6. The Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948.
7. The Industrial Employment Standing Orders Act, 1946
8. The Working Journalists' Act, 1958.
9. The Beedi and Cigar Workers ( Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966.
Industrial Courts and Labour Courts adjudicate disputes regarding various demands of the workmen.
